failsafe everyday makeup

I love having fun with makeup, but when it come to the everyday “getting ready” drawer there are a few essentials that I always seek out. These are the things I just can’t live without, and are always ready to go in case I have to throw them in the bag and run.

 

For every day I’m a big believer in less-is-more, and I tend to stick to things that look fresh throughout the day but can also be built on. Personally I can’t go past a bronzed, fresh look, which is what I thought I’d share my secret weapons for below.

Base

Start by cleaning up your base – this will be the foundation, BB cream and or concealer of your choice. Personally for every day I tend to just stick to a concealer under my eyes and over any blemishes / red areas.

 

Brows

Not something I think every one has to deal with, but mine can be pretty unruly, so a good brush, followed by a quick swipe of Charlotte Tilbury’s Legendary Brows to keep them in place all day.

 

Bronze & highlight

Let’s be honest, if I’m in a rush the highlighting takes the back seat, but a quick go over with a contouring brush and a soft bronzer is a must to bring your face back to life. If you’re not a bronzer girl, dab on a bit of cream blush on the apples of your cheeks instead.

 

Eyes

If there is time I dab on a neutral coloured eye shadow, and pack a compact palette like this one if I know it’s going to be a long day or if I’m heading out. Finally, finish off with a coat or three of mascara.
