how to combat winter skin

I have a confession to make. I have a slight crush on frank.

Winter skin. Ick.

I seem to face the same struggle every year – too dry, too oily, the odd breakout which I otherwise never get. Just because of winter. When a little parcel of frank arrived at my door, I was excited to give this cheeky new range ago, considering I’m already quite smitten with the idea of frank in the shower, as you know.

When frank and I first got together, we spent some time in the shower, and he was all over me. He left my skin super-dooper soft, and the whole bathroom smelled like coffee. What’s not to love? Since that day I use frank once or twice a week in the shower. And yes, I even take him travelling.

Does it live up to the hype?
Every body, skin type and personal preference is different, but this totally works for me. The new frank face care range is designed to soften up your cheeks (this time, the ones on your face), and like the body scrub – requires you to get a little dirty before you get clean. So, here is a routine I use to combat winter skin – frank at the ready.

STEP 1
I mainly do this in the mornings and evenings, after removing any make up. The gentle cleanser will make you feel super dirty at first, almost muddy like with its grey colour and gooey texture. Delicious. Get it all up in your face, and wash off.

STEP 2
I must confess that I have on occasion used frank in my face. Which is totally cool – but he is a little bag of tough love, so you have to use it gently on your face. This is probably the product I was most excited about, as you figure a guy who knows coffee scrubs this well will deliver a pretty kick arse face scrub. He did.

STEP 3
Tough love requires a gentle finisher, and depending on your skin type you might want to combine this with something a little heavier if your schnoz is super dry. This is all I am using for now, and will see how it works going into summer. The everyday face moisturiser is perfectly just that – light and fresh.
