stupid questions

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to join the beautiful team at Lenovo for a private conference with none other than Ashton Kutcher. Yes, swoon. Apart from being the most down-to-earth and cool guy, he is ridiculously smart… (and kind of really hot) Having invested in businesses like Sound Cloud, Uber and more, this guys clearly has a few things going for him.

That, and his ridiculously hot wife.

Ashton spoke about questions, and how there is such a thing as a stupid question. I had to agree, but quietly. Sometimes they just feel like room fillers, it’s the guy who hasn’t done the homework but wants to sound important. We all know one, or two.

When he spoke about Mila, and some of the questions she is sometimes asked in interviews – even when starring in films that carry deep meaning, the most important question of the day is “Who is your dress by?”

Conversation drifted into the importance of real questions, and what really matters. What really matters to you? What do you wish you had more control of in your life? Ashton brought up a quote from playing Steve Jobs, which stuck with me.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”

oil_1Is there any excuse to always doing things at the last minute? I claim to have many – I’m a busy girl. Working with a two year old business that I have totally put my heart and soul into, as well as fighting (and giving in) to this creative urge to click “Add new post” on the blog. Some people mediate. Other people write. I am the of the latter kind, I’m afraid.

I wish I could meditate. And to be fair, I have tried. But I almost have to have had lost all hope, drive and energy to subside to a state of complete nothingness and bliss. The fight in me is a little bit too strong. I’d rather have a half hour cry and feel like the world is about to end, and then get back up and dust myself off. Onwards and upwards, people.

But, I have found other ways to manage this.

To write, jump into the salty ocean, go for a run, draw. These are all ways I keep sane. And just because everyone tells you that meditating will change your life, and is something you have to do, doesn’t mean that it’s something that works for you.

Life hacks in all their glory, but when it comes to time, we only have what we’ve been given. We can spend time worrying about how much we have, or how we are going to spend it. To sum it up for you, I say make the most of every single day. If that means doing things last minute for you, then so be it. As long as it gave you pea sure and productiveness with something else. But learn from your mistakes, use your little life hacks, and steve to be better every day.

Speaking of better, did you know that The Iconic now delivers the same day on weekend? For someone who currently sucks at planning ahead, this is a true heaven sent. Hello amazing – dress – that – I – didn’t – know – I – needed – so – badly. Saturday is saved.

If you’re like me, you’re wondering why every single website in the world doesn’t offer free next day delivery. Or same day delivery – on the weekend!? Say what. Needless to say, The Iconic is now my go-to place for online ordering. Best. Thing. Ever.
